The Greek Pitta: Halal Greek Gyro in London

The Greek Pitta is a Greek halal street food spot that has three stores in the UK currently (London, Luton and Watford). They have an authentic Greek kebab shop menu where you can get your typical Greek dishes. The most popular thing on the menu of course is the gyro. Gyro is if you like the greek doner. Typically it comes in a pitta bread with some tomatoes and onions and a distinctive tzatziki sauce.

I got the chicken gyros pitta, which set me back £5.70. It was around lunch time and a lot of builders and what seemed like Greek native men came in to grab a quick bite. All good signs. It is more of a pick up and go kind of place as there aren’t many seats to sit down (not any from what I recall?) and they also don’t deliver, which I found strange. In this day and age a successful restaurant should have a delivery service right?

Anyway, the most important thing is the food. How was it? I have to say it was delicious. A very good lunch option if you are nearby and it’s halal! It feels like a healthier doner pitta wrap. A very good option if you want a slight alternative to the Turkish version. So, what do you guys prefer? The Turkish, Asian (saucy) or the Greek version?
