Kervan: Turkish Breakfast in London

You have to love a good Turkish breakfast. Healthy, delicious, so much variety, filling and a great social sharing-friendly meal. Cracking way to start the day. And if you’re in London, there are plenty of options for you. In this post, we take a look at Kervan and their offering. Click here to view their menu and their instagram here. Kervan have a few branches around London, we went to the one in Southgate.

Here’s the Turkish breakfast you can get from Kervan:

Scrambled or fried eggs, Turkish sausage, halloumi, cheddar cheese, feta cheese, borek, tomato, cucumber, salami, mushrooms, aubergine, olives, butter, kaymak, honey, jam, simit/acma and Turkish tea. Menemen is complimentary for two or more people. All for £26, which is decent.

What we thought?

Breakfast was delicious. Very good quality Turkish breakfast and a decent price too compared to some of their counterparts in London. Everything in the spread was evidently of high quality and the taste testified to that. The Kaymak if you don’t know is incredible! Perfectly indulgent with literally everything. Typically had with the provided bread, but it actually works with the cheese too, the meats and the veg!

Saying all that, our simple order was somehow not fulfilled entirely and we felt we weren’t attended to as well as we could’ve been. We ordered the Turkish breakfast for two and a Lahmacun. The Turkish breakfast (as stated above) came, but it came without some of the items listed – about 3 or 4 items were missing. The tea didn’t come with the breakfast as requested, instead we had to ask for it at the end of our meal. And the Lahmacun didn’t even come, yet we were billed for it (deducted when we pointed it out). I mean it was busy, but not overflowing busy. It’s a big restaurant with plenty of staff, so they should’ve been able to handle our order.

I’d go back for the food as it was of good quality and just hope they get our order right the next time.
