Five Akhi’s has taken the social media world by storm and people from up and down the country are swarming to little old Milton Keynes to sample some of these epic burgers. The word “Akhi” means “my brother” in Arabic and they are named so because it is a family run business, made up of 4 brothers. And I’m assuming the fifth brother is supposed to be you? Whether this is what they meant or not, but if they did, it’s clever.

What we got:
El Pape burger
Blazing bird burger
Truffle fries
Bangla Naga wings
Buddha Blue mocktail
Original milk cake
How was it?
The burgers were good (el pape, in particular, was ). The wings were amazing, especially if you like spice – the naga flavour was real! The fries were average. The mocktail was perfect for the hot weather. The milk cake was nice and indulgent.
There’s very little room to dine in – literally two small tables. I do hope they can expand to cater for their increasing customer base. We had to take it away as there was no space. We went to a nearby park – Willen Lake (as recommended by them actually). The burgers are a messy affair (not a bad thing necessarily). Very messy. Not very lady-like. Even, myself, I’m not a fan of messy burgers especially when dining out. So, having to go out and eat in the outdoors due to lack of space kind of affected our overall experience and not in a positive way. When eating, I felt rushed, I felt like people were watching – not the ideal setting for such a messy burger.
