This is the spot to try some unique and delicious East Asian desserts. Located right next to Hefaure in Soho/Chinatown, it has been picking up a lot of attention recently.
They do savoury dishes too, but it’s all about the desserts here. What you need to try:
Croffle
They’ve got a number of flavour options including matcha, strawberry and Oreo. We went for cinnamon. The topping was delicious and creamy with a wonderful hint of cinnamon. It worked so well. The croffle itself was different to any other croffle we’ve had. It was tough and sticky as it looked and felt like it was caramelised in brown sugar.
Strawberry milk roll
This is like a Swiss roll, but more subtle in taste and sweetness and a bit more buttery/milky. I probably wouldn’t rush to try this as I do prefer a Swiss roll.
Bingsu
This is the famous Korean shaved ice dessert. They have a number of different toppings including matcha and mango. We went for the Oreo one with this one. It came with a dollop of cream, Oreo biscuits and condensed milk. It was nice and refreshing and feel this is such a summer hot weather dessert. Perfect to cool you down!
All the desserts are suitable for vegetarians and alcohol free so suitable for the halal diet.
Seating
They’ve got a limited amount of seats (5 small tables that can seat 2 people on each). So, expect long queues outside. We went a little after opening (12) and still had to wait around half an hour. I assume the queue is for those who want to eat in, but this wasn’t clear. If I want to take away, do I still have to queue? No one asked us nor the people behind us to clarify what we wanted. So, I’d be really annoyed had I been queuing up for a very long time outside to just take away.
Edit: the restaurant has been in touch and they’ve said they’ll be making the queuing system clearer. A class response from them I must admit.
