The Canvas of Creativity

At Funky Chips, the potato fry becomes a canvas for culinary creativity. From a medley of mouthwatering sauces to inventive toppings that range from indulgent to healthy, each fry is a masterpiece that promises a unique burst of flavours in every bite. The menu at Funky Chips is fair straightforward. As you wait in the never ending line, someone will come to you about half way through to take your order. And you choose between masala chips and cheesy chips. And the size too; either small or large. And if you’re planning to eat elsewhere at the market, small is definitely enough as the portions are very very generous.

Camden’s Creative Vibe

Located in Camden Market, Funky Chips seamlessly integrates into the area’s creative and vibrant atmosphere. The lively energy, the colours, the theatrics and the diverse crowd all add to the overall experience, making a visit to Funky Chips not just about the food, but about immersing yourself in Camden’s unique culture.

The Perfect Snack or Meal

Funky Chips isn’t just a snack that is shared, but it can be a full-fledged meal or a satisfying midday pick-me-up. Whether you’re exploring Camden Market’s stalls or simply seeking a quick yet flavourful bite, Funky Chips caters to your cravings and leaves you feeling satisfied and uplifted.

Our experience

Anything that goes viral in London usually ends up having a lot of exaggerated hype and long queues, even more so at the Camden Market. Think birria tacos last year to the Yorkshire burrito 6 months ago. It is now the turn of Funky Chips! Despite the viral status of the others, I’ve not seen queues stretching out this far and for this long as this place. We had to wait for 1 and a half hours! For chips! Madness. We opted for the small masala chips (the portion was still huge – we had to check that it was actually small).

How did it taste? Good! I mean as good as loaded chips can taste I guess. I don’t think it’s anything to sing and dance about, certainly not worth waiting that long in a queue for. I much preferred the steak dishes from Asador (read more) next door: where you can get the chips but with steak on top and also a steak sandwich. A much more wholesome and varied meal. And the queue time was 45 minutes, which was long too, but short compared to this place.

Funky Chips Camden Market is a testament to the power of creativity and flavour when combined with a classic comfort food. With each fry being a work of culinary art, the brand captures the essence of Camden’s dynamic spirit and offers a unique experience that transcends the ordinary. Whether you’re a local or a visitor exploring the vibrant market, Funky Chips invites you to embark on a flavourful journey that celebrates both tradition and innovation.
