If you have not heard of Hafiz Mustafa, then you really need to get to know. This is one of the most legendary sweet and dessert shops in the world.
Hafiz Mustafa: 6 Facts About This Turkish Legend

1. It was founded in 1864 in Istanbul. To put that into perspective, Queen Victoria was the queen of the United Kingdom and Abraham Lincoln was the president of the United States. I mean Turkey was only established as a republic in 1923!

2. Hafiz Mustafa is actually the son of the founder of the store: Hadji İsmail Hakkı Bey. Hadji was one of the first producers of sugar candy and his son followed suit. He was an avid candy maker too. As well as candy making, he was also a volunteering Muadhin at a mosque. A Muadhin is the person who makes the call to the prayer in a mosque.

3. Hafız Mustafa won 11 bakery and confectionery awards in Europe – not only did this increase brand awareness within the country, but it also introduced Turkish desserts and confectionery to the world! And as you can witness now, the world did not regret it!

4. Top quality ingredients along with top quality pastry chefs are combined to produce the luxurious results you see at Hafiz Mustafa. For example, sugar cane is used instead of glucose, and natural madders and natural fruit essences are used instead of colorants.

5. Zamzam water is used in all of their products. Zamzam, for those who are not aware, is water that is considered holy by Muslims, it is believed to contain spiritual qualities and it originates from a well in Makkah.

6. Their offerings include baklava, turkish delights, kadayif, kunafa, turkish ice cream, milk puddings and cakes. This is your ultimate Turkish dessert stop. You cannot go wrong by popping in here for dessert especially if you have a sweet tooth.
