Double Like is a burger joint based in Dubai that is taking burgers to the next level. They have some really unique offerings that can entice any foodie.
We came here for one thing and one thing only. The Rib Burger!
Located on a trendy buzzing street – Jumeirah Beach Rd – where there are numerous good looking restaurants and cafes, this little spot sits there attracting people more from their Instagram posts maybe than the place itself. It’s a very small spot with very limited seating: a couple of tables indoors and a couple outdoors (which won’t be suitable all the time of course in Dubai). I have to say in terms of looks it was a bit underwhelming compared to their enticing social media posts – so hats off to their social media team I guess.
So, we ordered and oh my it was expensive. 79 AED for the rib burger and it comes with fries. But no drink. The burger looks like no other we’ve had. A rib (with the bone n all) is tucked in between burger buns. It comes with gravy to dip or pour over. Take the bone out and enjoy or if you’ve got instagram, take the bone out and stab the burger from the top, take your pictures, take the bone out and then enjoy! Life of an instagramer hey.
What about the taste? The meat is saucy and slightly sweet. I don’t think it needed the extra gravy to be honest. I liked it and it was quite different to any burger I’ve had, but I think I wouldn’t get it again because of the sweetness. I would prefer my rib to have a chargrilled taste as opposed to a sweet one. My wife loved it and was singing its praises for days to come. So, I guess it really depends on your taste and preference.
All in all, a good experience that you should definitely give a go when in Dubai. If you’re hungry, you have to try out their lobster roll (I think this is actually their signature item) and their saudi French toast (this looks goooood!).
