I’ve dedicated a whole post to this meal as it is my favourite meal of the day and they do a couple of amazing local breakfasts here in Penang. Roti Canai and Roti Bakar are not to be missed especially from a couple of legendary spots.
5. Ban Heang
Ban Heang is a shop that specialises in snacks from this part of the world. Think curry puffs and egg tarts. The curry puff from here was absolutely insane. The best we’ve had and we’ve even tried it at a number of place in Singapore!
6. Hawker Centre Hopping
Immerse yourself in Georgetown’s hawker centres. Gurney Drive Hawker Centre and New Lane Hawker Centre are must-visit spots for a variety of local dishes.

1. Cendol at Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul

2. Ais Kacang at New World Park
Indulge in Ais Kacang, a shaved ice dessert topped with colourful syrups, red beans, and other sweet treats. New World Park is a great spot to savour this icy delight. Be sure to true out the famous Ais Tingkap too for a unique sweet drink that is only found in Penang.
3. Soya beancurd
This is a traditional Chinese dessert that is a must try when you get a chance. Woong Kee is a famous shop from Ipoh and they have a branch right here in the centre of Georgetown Penang. A must try!
