Where to try Brazilian Desserts in England
Brazilian desserts are sweet treats that you have to absolutely try, but the question is where can you get them in England?
Brazilian desserts in England

I love sweet things and I love to explore new cuisines. So, when I noticed @vovosdesserts were doing authentic traditional Brazilian desserts, I had to get in touch. It’s a cuisine I know almost nothing about, but one that I want to explore more one day. Her communication was super good throughout and you can really sense the love and passion that goes into what she does. It was very easy to order (DM her) and she was open for any questions that I had. Very important in this modern era (take note big companies!!). We ordered the taster box so we could try out all of their offerings.

Here is what we got:

Churros – it was different to the normal churros we’ve had in that the texture was a little more firm and chewier. With the right amount of cinnamon and sugar coating, this made for a wonderful treat.

2 Churros stuffed with chocolate and 2 Churros stuffed with doce de leite – these were likewise as delicious as above. The doce de leite is a Latin American caramel – worked so well with the churros. Which one did we like the best from the 3? In all honesty it was so hard to choose between them!

Pudim – this traditional Brazilian dessert is a type of creamy, caramel-coated custard flan. I have a love hate relationship with egg heavy desserts. This one – thankfully wasn’t heavy at all on the egg taste and instead more of the caramel syrup on top shone through – which was delicious!

Bolo de Cenoura – Carrot cake with chocolate sauce… yes, you read that right. A carrot cake with chocolate sauce on top. I was intrigued and apprehensive at the same time. Usually when that happens, my intrigue wins. I had to try this. And I loved it. Strangely it works and they compliment each other well. It wasn’t to my wife’s favourite though.

Brigadeiro – Chocolate truffle surrounded by chocolate sprinkles. Probably the most popular Brazilian dessert. Sooo good. Creamy, decadent and irresistible bites of joy. Perfect. I think this was my favourite overall.

Beijinho – Coconut truffles. Similar to their counterparts in texture, but with a coconut focus. Imagine the inside of a bounty, but creamy. Wife struggled to pick between this and the chocolate truffle, but when pushed she chose this one.

Overall:

Brazilian desserts are definitely worth checking out. I don’t think they get the limelight they deserve. All of the above were so different to one another and therefore something for everyone.
