Three Brothers: naga doner and smash burgers in Manchester

We visited the highly renowned Three Brothers in Manchester. They have a good amount of hype surrounding them especially in the halal eating community. They’re known for their doner and the naga flavours. I’ve seen and heard claims of the doner being the best in Manchester! If you don’t know what naga is, it’s an extremely hot chilli pepper. Originates and is popular with Bengalis. The naga ranges from 1 – 1.5 million Scoville heat units on the Scoville scale. Compare that with the 5000 of a typical jalapeño pepper. It’s not for the feint hearted. To be fair, it’s not for many people at all lol.

The Naga Boss Box

The most popular item on their menu is the Naga Boss Box. The naga boss box comes with a naga chicken burger (we exchanged this for a naga smash burger), naga wings, naga doner and chips with nacho cheese.

The naga smash burger was delicious to be fair. I think I prefer smash burgers over the normal type now. This one had the additional naga kick and was WOW! I would get this again and would highly recommend this to others. The naga wings were okay. The naga spice was watered down. Not as good/spicy as the infamous Spice Hut ones for example. They are the OG. The doner was okay. I prefer the dry style Turkish doner as opposed to the saucy Asian style. This was the saucy style, so if that’s your thing, you’ll like it. The chips were drenched with nacho cheese, which if you’re not a fan of, you’ll find overwhelming.

We also got the shatkora doner. Shatkora is another unique Bengali citrus. Soooo good! Probably deserves a post of its own. Another time… The doner was good – the shatkora flavours were prominent. If you ever see this on a menu, make sure you try it!

Overall

All in all a decent place especially if you like saucy type of doner. This place is meant to be very popular, so I assume it’s good. I prefer the Turkish style unfortunately. But the star of the show for me was the naga smash burger – make sure you try this! But be warned it is spicy!
