Singapore is a wonderful country, which is clean, safe, naturally beautiful and so much to eat and do. In this post, I will list two of the best activities or attractions that you need to include in your Singapore itinerary. When we visited in 2017, we were there for one full day only and these are the two attractions we were heavily recommended and after completition we had no regrets and would happily recommend others to go for the same. They are the Singapore Zoo and Gardens by the Bay.
The Singapore Zoo
Whether zoos are your thing or not, and they’re not really my thing as I find them underwhelming, this zoo in Singapore is an absolute must visit! It has to be the best zoo I have ever visited in the whole world. Dating back to 1973, it is regarded as one of the best rainforest zoos in the world. With 11 different zones and 2,800 animals, you’ll be spending hours here easily and one trip may not be enough. The area is so big they even have mini buses taking you from zone to zone! An animal lover’s dream activity this is. According to Forbes Traveler, it is one of the best zoos in the world, and TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award ranked it in the top 3 zoos in the world in 2018. Seriously, I cannot stress how awesome this zoo is. There’s so much to do and see here and it feels like you are in with the wild, with the animals in their natural habitat. That is the secret behind its success I feel.
It is currently 48 Singaporean dollars, which is around £28 for a standard adult ticket. Check and book your tickets here.
Gardens by the Bay
You can’t come to Singapore and not visit this iconic attraction. If you google Singapore, it is likely you will see images of the Supertrees that are located here. Located by the famous Marina Bay in the heart of Singapore, there are a number of things you can do and see here. The Flower Dome, which is the World’s Largest Glass Greenhouse (as of 2015) is home to wonderful plants and flowers from all over the world. If you love gardens, then this will take your expectations and multiply them ten fold! The Cloud Forest is like walking through a real life rainforest – another experience not to be missed. And finally the Supertrees, they stand tall and have become so iconic. You can just sit back and enjoy them as they light up at night or you can climb them to get an unmatched view of the city.
It is currently 28 Singaporean dollars for the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, and the Supertree Observatory is 14. And that is around £16 and £8 respectively, for a standard adult ticket. Check and book your tickets here.
