Brunch & Cake: boujee brunch with stunning views of the Atlantis Palm

If you want boujee brunch and a boujee view, then look no further than Brunch & Cake at The Pointe in Dubai. They’ve got the aesthetic decor (interior and exterior), they’ve got the typical good looking brunch dishes and they’ve got the added bonus of one of the best views you can get in the world: the Atlantis Palm Jumeirah. In this post we’ll discuss the establishment, the food, the views and how to get there.

Brunch & Cake from Barcelona

Originally founded in Barcelona Spain, in 2010, they were named Cup & Cake, but due to their instant success they expanded and rebranded themselves as Brunch & Cake in 2012. Come 2019, 4 branches were opened in the UAE. It can be argued that the perfect location for such aesthetic and visually pleasing food. We visited the branch at The Pointe in the Palm because we happened to be there that particular morning and because of the fascinating views on offer, but more on that below. I love their tagline: In grandmothers we trust. This is not in reference to their grandmother, but the concept of a grandmother. Imagine your grandmother making you food; you know what you’ll get in front of you will be full of generosity, love and care. That’s what they aim to achieve here.

The food

You’ve got all your usual brunch classics to choose from: French toast, pancakes, eggs Benedict, avocado on toast and the list goes on. Their menu is vast and it includes many non-brunch items too. But we’re here for the brunch of course. We got the pancakes and eggs Benedict. In terms of looks, you can’t fault it, as you can see. Instagram friendly and certainly not camera shy. It fit the visual appeal of the restaurant itself. Bravo! What about the all important taste? Yup! Both hit the spot. Brunch was brunching this late morning in sunny Dubai!

They’ve got no physical menu, instead they have one of those QR code ones, which I know is very 2023, but I just don’t like it. I prefer to have a physical copy in front of me and for me to look through it with my own eyes. Also, Dubai is full of tourists and typically speaking, when abroad the use of data can be a bit tricky for some. Thus, creating an awkward scenario. Also, if there’s internet problems at the establishment, it further adds to the frustration. And this is what happened here. Firstly, there were internet problems and then the waiter brought out a menu on an iPad, which then froze at a particular screen. It was a little frustrating at this point. But we move.

The views

A nice warm Dubai December morning here with beautiful brunch on the table, can it get any better? Yes, add to that the backdrop of the Atlantis Palm as the view, you have got yourself a winner. And that would be an understatement. Seriously, just look at them pictures! Words don’t do it justice.

How to get there

This particular branch is at The Pointe at the Palm Jumeirah. Here you’ll find a number of cafes, eateries and waterspouts on offer. You can get a taxi here or experience the Palm Monorail and get off at the penultimate station, which is The Pointe.
