Biju: the best matcha bubble tea in London?

Bubble tea (or boba) is a worldwide trend and more so currently in major Western cities like London. There is almost a new bubble tea spot on every corner every other week. No matter where you live in the capital, you probably won’t be too far away from a bubble tea spot. In this post we will look at Biju, who are supposedly the best mathca bubble tea spot in London.

Biju is a bubble tea spot that is founded by a gentleman who grew up in Singapore, Nick. It was born in 2014 (Biju, not Singapore nor Nick). While in Singapore, Nick developed an obsession for bubble tea (and I can confirm the high quality bubble tea options available in Singapore are insane!) and when he arrived in London, he noticed a gap in the market. The gap for good high quality bubble tea. So, he left his career in finance and ventured into Biju! They pride themselves in providing the best of quality. So, each cup of tea is brewed individually and only fresh organic milk is used (as opposed to that powdered stuff some use). Check out more of the story here.

Their menu consists of some very interesting drinks that you may not find elsewhere. What stood out for us and we had heard rave reviews about this place for was the quality of the matcha on offer. Organic Kagoshima Matcha is used for their matcha drinks. As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m not a big matcha fan, but I want to get into it. And so I thought I’d give this place and their matcha drink a go to see if they can convert me. I can confirm the quality of the matcha was good and I did like it enough to finish the drink, but enough to get it again? Probably not. This is not their fault though, it is more to do with my taste bud. Check out more of their menu here.
