When you visit Makkah for religious purposes, you should make the sole intention to visit Masjid al-Haram (whether it is for Umrah or not). You should not set out to visit any other site in Makkah for religious purposes (i.e. with the intention and hope for a reward). And this is based on the hadith that states only 3 places are worthy of designating a religious visit to. So, the places that will be mentioned in this post are strictly for historic tourism only and one should not believe nor hope for a reward by visiting them. Unless there is evidence to do so of course (e.g. a couple of the places are part of Hajj). Also, I would only advise you visit them as long as it will not eat up your time or energy. Time and energy that should be reserved for Masjid al-Haram.
